Join us for our Spring Conference! Here are the topics and presenters we will hear from: George Cicotte Bio & Summary: George Cicotte serves clients nationwide, representing employers in corporate and litigation matters with a focus on employee benefits. Representative matters include myriad compliance questions, retirement plan transactions, health plan design, advising and defending plan fiduciaries, and working with related tax and labor issues. AI in HR: Emerging trends, best practices, and ethical, lawful implementation. This presentation will explore the transformative role of artificial intelligence on all facets of the human resources profession. We will highlight the developing regulatory landscape and discuss best practices that can assure AI implementation is ethical and lawful. We will consider the use of AI in several specific areas including recruitment and talent acquisition, on-boarding, performance management, learning and development, employee engagement and well-being, employee retention, diversity and inclusion, and data privacy and security. We will also examine applicable state and federal legal considerations. Juliet Stanek Bio & Summary Juliet Stanek is the HR Director at Energy Northwest in Richland. Juliet has served over 20 years in leadership roles with a focus in nuclear industries. She was previously an HR manager at the Hanford Site and also worked in HR and the metallurgy group at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Juliet was also an adjunct professor at Columbia Basin College for 400-level HR courses. Juliet has a bachelor’s degree in business from Salem State University and a master’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in HR from Northern Arizona University. She also holds active SHRM-SCP, SPHR, CCP (compensation) and CPP (payroll) certifications. Her top passions in HR disciplines include compensation, benefits, payroll, recruiting and talent development. The Evolving Landscape of Compensation Management Struggling with employees complaining about compensation? Overwhelmed by the impacts of inflation and the Great Resignation on your team? Michelle Holt Bio & Summary Michelle Holt is a relative newcomer to the Tri-Cities, having joined the Benton-Franklin Council of Governments as Executive Director in February 2021. Michelle has over 25 years of executive leadership experience, specializing in organizational revitalization and development. Why You Can't Hire My Husband Join Michelle as she shares her experiences and insights after spending the better part of the last two years supporting her 55-year-old husband in his quest for meaningful employment post-relocation. Based on their real experiences as a mature job seeker, a hiring manager, and former workforce training executive, Michelle will encourage participants to challenge their hiring processes to improve their candidate pools by sharing job seekers' commonly expressed frustrations and the downside of automated hiring processes for applicants with fun and humor. This session will include resources and interactive activities to help participants challenge their hiring process from job posting to interview, to increase their applicant pool, improve the applicant experiences, and hire great people. Geoff McLachlan Bio & Summary Geoff Mclachlan is a professional speaker, trainer and coach. He has given well over 1000 speeches to almost two million individuals and has facilitated learning from schools to multi billion dollar companies. As a coach, he believes in deeply powerful conversations. Geoff is the founder of Professionals at Play, a training organization that specializes in growing highly productive and engaged teams through the power of play. He is a co-host of the "No More Leadership BS" podcast. He is also the creator of Engineering Ethos, a six-week online program to help students design the life they want to live! Power of Play!
