January 2019 Chapter Meeting

Mastering Challenging Conversations"
Presented by:  Heather Boynton; Founder – Ascent Solutions

Effectively conducting challenging conversations in today's world is a key competency needed inside and outside the workplace. Whether you are delivering a difficult message, providing feedback, or confronting an individual's behavior, it is critical to objectively balance the facts and emotions involved.  During this session, participants will learn how to:

  • Identify when and how to hold the conversation
  • Foster agreement vs. defensiveness
  • Implement an easy 5 - Step Model
  • Focus on actual behaviors and not what is assumed happened
  • Avoid destroying trust in these conversations

This is a lively and audience-involved workshop that helps develop the skills needed to master conversations based on honesty, respect and openness for both inside and outside the workplace.
