Join us for our Fall Conference! The Power of an Effective Investigation presented by Paul Buchanan We'll discuss why an effective investigation is so useful for an employer -- and helpful for the workplace. And we'll cover the components of effective investigation. A practical investigation allows the employer to make a determination based on the facts the investigator has determined to be true. But in order to be effective, the process must be adequate and adequately documented. We'll learn what makes an investigation effective. The WA Cares Fund presented by Benjamin Veghte, MPA, Ph.D. In July 2026, eligible workers will be able to access their WA Cares benefit. We will share the latest updates on implementation of the state’s new long-term care insurance program and learn more about employers’ responsibilities. This session will cover the most frequently asked questions about the program, including who contributes to the fund, who can get an exemption, how workers will meet contribution requirements, and what kinds of benefits will be available. Get your questions answered and find out where to go for more business and worker resources. 1. Participants will understand the impacts of family caregiving responsibilities on businesses and workers. 2. Participants will be able to answer employer and employee questions about the basic structure of the WA Cares Fund program, including who contributes to the program, how to meet contribution requirements, and what types of benefits will be available. 3. Participants will recognize the role HR departments play in WA Cares implementation and identify employer responsibilities related to the program.
